Who is Shubhangi Rana?
Shubhangi Rana is co-founder of Pad2Go, a sanitary pad vending machine distributor based on Nepal. She is also a Civil Engineer by profession.
Early Life and Career
Shubhangi Rana was born on 24 April 1996. She finished her school life in St. Xavier’s School, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, Nepal. She joined The Lawrence School, Sanawar where she finished high school. Shubhangi went to India for her undergraduate studies. In 2018, she graduated with a civil engineering degree from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. Shubhangi Rana returned to Nepal and joined Sanima Hydro And Engineering Pvt. Ltd. as Assistant Civil Engineer.
How was Pad2Go started?
In 2018, Shubhangi and Jesselina graduated from the Indian Universities. Upon return to Nepal, they both wanted to start some new social venture, but completely unaware of what to and from where to start. They thought of working on menstrual health however both were from different fields; Shubhangi is a civil engineer and Jesselina is a lawyer. While they were at University, they had installed Pad Vending Machine with the help of Student Council. They thought of establishing a company to distribute vending machine in Nepal which was a new concept at that time.
In October 2018, Shubhangi together with Jesselina started Pad2Go to kick start their idea of social entrepreneurship. Pad2Go is a social enterprise initiative that aims to improve the way menstruation is viewed in Nepal. They do so by supplying vending machines for the sanitary napkin to colleges, workplaces, and organizations.
